We're looking for robotics software engineers.

We’re a brand new startup building robots that build large-scale solar farms. It turns out that construction companies literally can't build solar fast enough to meet demand, so automation will play a crucial role in transitioning the grid over to renewable generation.

We're funded and are looking to bring more talented software engineers onto our small team. Our founders have significant expertise building robots and scaling companies; previously our CEO was the 2nd employee at a robotics company that's now public, and our CTO wrote the core wallet software that now protects some $10B in digital assets.

As an early robotics software engineer at Charge Robotics, you’ll own a significant chunk of the ground-up development for a new robot. You’ll largely have your pick of problems to work on across the autonomous robotic vehicle stack, including sensor integration, perception, planning, control, simulation, visualization, and tooling.

We’re a small, fast moving company which means constant opportunity for learning and growth. You’ll have a large impact on the direction of our company and our product, which will be reflected in significant equity compensation. And you get to play with giant robots.


  • Are significantly familiar with some combination of Python and C++
  • Have some experience working with robots (kinematics, controls, vision/perception, SLAM)
  • Know how to write software as a member of a team, including writing clean code, documenting it, testing it, and using version control and CI.
  • Can’t stand tedious work and will find a way to automate it
  • Are based in or can relocate to the SF bay area

It’d also be nice if you:

  • Have at least a 4-year degree in CS or similar
  • Know how to instrument and develop highly performant code (networking, high-bandwidth sensor drivers, GPU shaders)
  • Have some ML experience, specifically within image classification/segmentation
  • Gain satisfaction from personally playing a part in mitigating climate change
  • Are excited but also slightly terrified by the idea of your code directing a 25,000lb industrial robot

Salary: 100 - 130k
